If we are going to be on holiday in the countryside or mountains during the summer, it is advisable to bear some recommendations in mind. We’ll tell you about it below.

In the countryside and in the mountains
Remember
- Camping in authorized areas.
- Set up your picnic or camping area away from beehives, wasp nests, and pine trees with processionary caterpillar nests.
- Close the tent during the day when not in use and at night. Inspect the tent before going to bed. In the morning, check your shoes if they have been left outside, before putting them on.
- Do not stay inside the tent for an extended period of time during the day in direct sunlight.
- Exercise extreme caution around wasp nests or beehives, and if there are stones, take special care as dangerous insects or animals may be hiding underneath.
- Do not use camping gas, LPG or barbecues inside or near the tent, and keep children away from them.
- Keep firelighters (they are very toxic), knives, scissors, medicines, etc. out of the reach of children.
- Only bathe in areas that are safe. After bathing, dry yourself and cover up with a t-shirt to avoid insect bites.
- Use appropriate wrappers or containers to protect food and dispose of waste in the containers. Food can attract insects such as wasps, bees and flies, and it can become contaminated by the stinging hairs of caterpillars.
- Mosquito repellent is only necessary if we are in an area where mosquitoes are abundant, particularly at dusk and during the night. To protect yourself from mosquitoes, it is advisable to have mosquito nets at the entrances to your tent or house, or to use mosquito netting while you sleep.
